Project 10 Productions hires Patrice Baillargeon as VP of Unscripted Programming
For immediate release
TORONTO December 10, 2015 – Patrice Baillargeon has been appointed Vice President, Unscripted Programming, Andrew Barnsley, President of Project 10, announced today. In this newly created position, Baillargeon will oversee all aspects of the Toronto-based company’s unscripted development and production activities, building upon the success of Sports On Fire. Effective immediately, Baillargeon reports directly to Barnsley.
Baillargeon joins Project 10 during a growth phase as the company looks to develop and produce more unscripted content and continues to add resources to both its scripted and unscripted divisions. His hire marks the second staffing expansion in the past nine months and follows Ben Murray’s appointment last February to the position of VP, Development and Production.
“As a former broadcast and production executive, Patrice possesses a deep understanding of international markets and is especially adept at leveraging talent, both emerging and established,” said Andrew Barnsley, President, Project 10. “His appointment is an integral part of our growth strategy and we couldn’t be happier to have him join the team.”
“Project 10 is poised to gain tremendous traction both domestically and internationally, and I am thrilled to be joining the company at such a pivotal stage in its evolution,” said Baillargeon. “Our goal is to grow the unscripted business exponentially, and we will be actively seeking partnerships with external content creators to complement our in-house slate.”
During his 15-year tenure in broadcasting, Patrice has overseen 450 episodes of original content as Executive in Charge of Production, and was notably responsible for OLN’s highly successful transition into factual entertainment. Programs commissioned by Baillargeon have aired in 130 countries and garnered audience and critical recognition both domestically and around the world. Baillargeon is a graduate of UQAM’s Communications program and holds an MA in English from The University of Western Ontario.
